Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 Wireless Gaming Headset for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S
So I decided to give him some time to use this helmet before giving him an opinion. I've had it for a week or two now. I play Destiny2 a lot with my friend and my current headset, which I got with my Xbox, is beyond a pain to wear with a bad mic and less than perfect sound quality. I apologize in advance as this is a bit of an essay review, but I've also added marks out of ten for each section, so hope this helps. I bought this headset after three weeks of reading reviews, watching reviews, comparing stats, and lots of umming and ahhing. feels cheap. It's pretty much plastic and basic padding. It also marks very easily, mine was already slightly scratched when it arrived but as it was clear it would get more marked in the future I wasn't too bothered. The controls are packaged together and look messy and poorly designed. It doesn't really impress when you look at it, but compared to my current helmet it's a massive upgrade. Fantastic headset for sound and noise cancellation, but I've always had issues using it wirelessly with Xbox (I'd have to use the xbox app on my phone to party chat). I have to be honest the sound quality is pretty close but I wouldn't use it for music. Sometimes parts of the music aren't as clear or defined as they were with my Sony headphones, so if I'm being honest, I prefer my Sony headphones because they have more depth and definition. I love the superhuman auditory mode and admit that was a big selling point for me. It works great, especially when you need to be sneaky and sneaky. There were times when the sound dropped when listening to Spotify and in Game Play but nothing really noticeable and it only lasted for a fraction of a second. I have to say playing Destiny2 with these was a game changer, the music is so much clearer and the gameplay is so much more in depth, I feel more drawn in and it's really quite immersive. I didn't realize how good the soundtrack in this game was until I started using them. However, it doesn't block out outside noise as well as I thought, maybe my Sony headphones spoiled me too much, but that wasn't too bad as I didn't buy it for noise canceling .8/10Comfort: I was very worried about this due to many reviews I read, and they were right, it's quite snug, as I have a small head, it didn't bother me too much bothered or caused pain, but I'm not sure how the others would cope. Unlike my current gaming headset, it's super comfortable after a few minutes. I even forgot it was on at some point. The ear pads, despite looking cheap, are comfortable and the headband is comfortable too. 8/10 Connectivity: Since these headsets are designed for use with Xbox, I wasn't really worried about connecting it my xbox except for online reviews. about communication issues. I have Series X and Xbox One and they connect perfectly to each. It's so simple to connect them and I haven't had any problems using them. Honestly, I have no idea how and why others have struggled or run into issues in this department. It turns on my consoles (paired ones too) when you turn it on which is a feature I love, and so far the process has been flawless, so easy and one of the main reasons why which I have not returned. 10/10Mic: I love the flip to mute, but if I'm honest, I don't use it much when playing with my band. I also find it annoying that the slightest touch or scrape of my hair gives uncomfortable feedback, it's super sensitive. My friends tell me they can hear me very clearly and have commented in-game about how much better it is than before. So that's a positive point. 9/10 Controls: So the design of these devices again feels cluttered and cheap. The plastic feel of it is evident in use, it's a little disappointing, but it works like a dream. I like being able to switch sound modes easily, not sure why the superhuman hearing mode is selected via the power button (seems to be a design flaw), but what I like the most is is the ease of changing chat volumes and game volumes so you can hear your friends much more clearly. 8/10 Sound software: I don't know why I expected more, but I was, the software is nice to look at but only gives you two sound options to play with (unless it's there's more magically hidden somewhere) but, as advised by the instructions, I updated the firmware right after I took it out of the box and that process was pretty quick and easy. The app itself will only be used for firmware updates and can simply be downloaded from the app stores.4/10 Price: Honestly, there are plenty of other headphones on the market that are more affordable and have the same technical statistics. I went with this make and model based primarily on its Xbox wireless compatibility. The only reason I didn't go with the Stealth 700 is that I won't be using it with anything other than my Xbox consoles (I use my Sony headphones for everything else). External design and appearance make it cheap and not worth its price. I don't know why it's so expensive, in particular, as stated above, there are so many other variants with the same technical specifications, lower price and better design. Personally after buying it I'd say it's worth £50-60 not £90.6/10 Overall: Not a bad used helmet. The microphone is clear although a little sensitive. The sound is great and immerses you in the game very well, but doesn't block out outside noise well, so if you live in a noisy house it would be a waste of money for you. It is comfortable for long gaming sessions with no problem (6 hours) despite its initial waterproofness and connecting to my consoles was more than easy. However, overall its design, features and price do not coincide. Its cheap looks and cheap feeling. For nearly £100 this headset doesn't look worth it. I'm almost embarrassed by it and if I'm being really honest, I wish I'd spent a bit more on a more attractive headset with a less annoying mic and better sound (I like listening to Spotify on xbox). Still, it's great so far but I don't feel like it's going to last, I have a sneaky suspicion that those criticisms of its fragility are fair. If you want a helmet to look, feel and perform like the money you paid for it, I wouldn't buy this one. I would invest in another helmet. If you're not too concerned with design and just want a headset with no nonsensical console connectivity, semi-immersive sound and a clear mic, then this may be just the thing for you. Hope this helped you.
