Unprecedented: Apple uses Samsung's Galaxy S21 to advertise Beats Studio Buds

UPDATE:

Apple now has

deleted samsung galaxy s21

image from his Beats Studio Buds page on Amazon. The original story continues below.

###

Just hours after publishing our

article

about Apple's new "AirPods for Android", which explains the reasons behind Apple's decision to start making headphones compatible with devices other than the

iPhone

, we found something more intriguing on the web! Maybe even outrageous?

As it turns out,

Apple

, or rather Apple's page on

United States

, uses Samsung

Galaxy S21

phone to announce the new Beats Studio Buds for Android (and iOS)! That's right... Your eyes don't deceive you.

As seen on Amazon.com...

Now, researching the history of Beats Studio Buds, we weren't too invested in the words/images used by Apple as it was, for the most part, very..."classic Apple". where you wouldn't know, the Cupertino-based company doesn't really like to talk about the competition, to begin with. If that happens, it's usually to throw shade at Android.

For example, at the last WWDC event which took place a few weeks ago, Apple made a huge announcement: FaceTime was coming to Android! However, to announce the monumental news, Craig Federighi released a side-by-side image featuring the

iPhone 12

next to not one

Galaxy S21

or Pixel 5, but what was the LG Stylo 6 or an uglier version of it.

Although, to be fair, if they had put the Pixel 3 XL next to the iPhone 12, it would arguably have been more embarrassing for the Android team.

If we look at past examples of times Android has been portrayed in Apple marketing material, we'll find that none of this is coincidental. For example, as one

9to5Google

last month's story, the Beats app on the Play Store features 2015's Nexus 6P, while the "Move to iOS" transfer app on Android is stuck with the even more outdated HTC One M8 alongside the

iPhone X

.

Neither app has been discontinued by Apple. They still receive regular updates. While we love the iconic designs of the Nexus 6P and HTC One, they just won't look exactly... cool when next to new iPhones.

Apple generally doesn't like to show off the best, or at least the latest, of Android.

So with all of that in mind, why did someone at Apple make the conscious decision to use the latest and greatest not just from Android, but from Samsung - Apple's biggest rival? ?For starters, there's a slight chance it was a mistake, and someone could be very...fired. But frankly, we doubt it. The image seems rather intentional. Yes, the Galaxy S21 is there (it's still shocking), but it's as if it was there to say:

"Look, even your high-end Android phone will work so well with Apple hardware! Imagine if you had an iPhone..."

It seems like Apple is only leaving the door to its world open, so those who use Android can walk in, taste the fruity world, and forget to leave. The Beats Studio Buds aren't just

compatible

with Android.

The Beats Studio Buds are now available on Amazon and work with Apple and Android! They give you ANC, IPX4 sweat and water resistance, transparency mode and much more.

They bring USB-C to a pair of Apple headphones/headphones for the first time. Of course, they omit a lot of features compared to the

AirPods

and

AirPods Pro

, such as Siri on demand, touch commands (press and hold),

wireless charging

, etc., but they give you ANC, IPX4 sweat and water resistance, transparency mode, and more. We can't wait to see if Apple has more Android-enabled devices to share with us, or maybe even an iPhone with USB-C? Again, if you're curious, we go into more detail about how and why Apple has decided to start making Android-compatible headphones in our latest Beats Studio Buds review.
