Samsung ST100 - Digital camera - compact - 14.2 Mpix - optical zoom: 5 x - supported memory: microSD, microSDHC - black
switched from a kodak m1063, which we liked a few years ago. but the wife hated being confused by the settings and the ergonomic location of the controls, which was more frustrating than not. for her. so i opted for simple and powerful. the front display is quite impressive. i like that you can activate with a hard press. we tend to spend more time together than with friends. went to cancun with friends we spent half the time just ourselves and got some great footage using the front screen to keep us in the perimeters before filming. just great for that. this feature would have been very useful for the photos we took for the family at christmas last year hahai loves that it doesn't need to load a lens. it's stationary. and the clarity is awesome. .allows easy adjustment, unlike the wheel at the top of e our latest camera.much easier and safer when it comes to a button on a screen. I was surprised at the battery life, the only thing that wasn't way above average. I expected it to last for days. It loses a bar after half a day of use. it's still great, but i expected it to last something like forever, especially since there's no pop-up lens. must be the LCD with touch screen. worth it, however, for the awesome display. I ordered another battery and a wall charger. problem solved. takes a micro sd card. Has no mini HDMI slot. It was a dashed hope. But the compact flash is awesome. Definitely goes further and clearer than any digital camera I've used before. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. no more women getting frustrated and putting a camera in my face saying "fix it!" awwahaha all you need to work the camera is on the top right. on/off , trigger, zoom and preview all there. no search, very easy. Also, technical stuff: I haven't used camera software to transfer photos in many years. I use card readers. But with the micro sd card which is hard to pinch, I tried the USB cable that comes with the phone. very easy to use. no hassle. here are [if it works] two links to two images, side by side from the same seat in the same place using only automatic flash. just to give some perspective on the difference between the latest and the new:[...] it just click on the photo to switch from new light capture to old [camera] image a little grainy the difference between cameras over the last few years is amazing!! Update: Christmas photos were easier. Set it to a ten second delay and the whole family comes together. It counts the last seconds for you on the front LCD display. Very easy to see, it's a very cool feature. We've had this camera for over six months now and it's still great. The stabilization feature is singularly impressive. Taking pictures of birds in our backyard is quite fun at full zoom. and hold the shutter down most of the time, everything is so stable that i can capture every part of the image i want. we have two backups and a wall charger. that's a lot of camera, there's a lot of processing with every shot. and it's totally worth it. ps, i love the touchscreen. there is a lag with the touchscreen, but for the photos we capture, it's worth it.
