Samsung Galaxy S10 finally revealed - camera uses AI to help compose the perfect shot
The
Samsung Galaxy S10
has finally arrived after months of Galaxy S10 leaks and rumors and it's brought some friends to the party.
Not only did Samsung unveil the Galaxy S10 at its Unpacked event, but four variants of the S10 line.
In total, there are the: Samsung Galaxy S10,
Samsung Galaxy S10+
, Samsung Galaxy S10e and power
Samsung Galaxy S10 5G
.
It's the latter that's the most exciting for camera fans, but for this one you're going to have to wait.

But all the phones come with an impressive camera and new features like Best Shot. This, according to Samsung, uses machine learning to analyze 100 million professional photos to make sure you get the "best shot". from the camera.

The Samsung Galaxy S10e has a reduced camera setup compared to the rest of the range. In short: it's an iPhone XR contender with two cameras on the back: an ultra-wide lens camera 16 MP and a 12 MP telephoto lens.
Flip the phone over and there's a 10MP Dual Pixel selfie camera which is a punch hole.

The Galaxy S10 and ?S10+ have three cameras on the back. These consist of a 12MP dual-pixel wide-angle lens and a 12MP telephoto zoom lens. This is the same number of megapixels as on the Samsung Galaxy S9+.
The ultra-wide-angle shooting mode is the star of the show here, though - an added 16MP ultra-wide lens.
It's a similar lens that was found on the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and goes down to 0.5x to get really close shots. That also means you can get some nice wide views too.
On the front of the S10 is a 10MP dual pixel camera (the same as the Samsung Galaxy S10e).
The Samsung Galaxy S10+, on the other hand, has been given an additional 8 MP (Depth/f2.2) lens. This is basically the bokeh lens.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 5G is why you might want to wait for the ultimate camera phone. It's not available until the summer, but it packs a lot of tech.
All the rear cameras that can be found on the Samsung Galaxy S10+ are included, but the 5G variant comes with an all-new hQVGA 3D depth-sensing camera.
It's a Time of Flight (ToF) camera that will dramatically improve augmented reality and virtual reality on the handset, as well as depth-sensing capabilities.
The Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10e will be available from March 8, 2019.
Pricing starts at £799 for the Galaxy S10, £899 for the Galaxy S10+ and £669 for the Galaxy S10e. Samsung Galaxy S10 5G prices are TBD.
