UK consoles announced for Amazon and GAME this week
Sony's PlayStation 5 console was released in November last year, but even nine months later many gamers across the UK have yet to get their hands on the next-gen machine.

Stock supply issues have plagued the PS5 since its release in 2020, and we've heard the situation could well continue into 2022. But don't despair: they're still regularly available online, and just because there is difficult to buy one. doesn't mean it's impossible. Retailers are now getting consoles on a regular basis.
August is shaping up to be a good month for those still on the hunt for a PS5 console, and online speculation now suggests that new PS5 stock should appear at several popular retailers throughout this week. , including Amazon UK, Argos and GAME.
According to
Stock PS5 UK
, a Twitter account that tracks stock drops in real time, Amazon could receive consoles between August 10 and 12, usually going live in the morning around 8 or 9 a.m. In a similar time frame, he said Game could have a drop between the 10th and 12th.
While it should be noted that predictions are far from guaranteed at this point, the tracker has listed other stores that may have consoles: Currys, StopTo, and Scan.
Argos is the latest retailer to have stock with PS5 consoles available overnight (August 9). As usual with the department store, the drops were regional, so stock levels varied across the country, but the digital edition and the standard console were stock.
On August 5, stock was live at Studio.co.uk but the consoles quickly sold out. The retailer asked customers to keep an eye on its social media channels for updates, and promised that it would have more PS5 stock in store "soon".
We'll be sure to update this page as soon as Argos' stock update is confirmed, along with the dates and times. Argos likes a 1 a.m. drop, so be prepared to set your alarms if you want to take one.
If you want to get rid of virtual queues completely, we suggest you take a look at Smyths Toys and GAME. Both retailers now allow you to pre-order a PS5 console in store. This is a change marked by compared to the online-only stock drops we've seen so far - so if you want a guaranteed way to secure yourself a PS5, it's by venturing out into the world in person.
If you are a BT customer, you may also consider
registration of interest
for the PS5 on the BT Store. The Phone Network has seen regular stock drops, and since the consoles are only available to BT customers, they haven't sold out at the blistering speed we've seen elsewhere.

stock didn't disappear in seconds, mostly due to changes to the ordering process to prevent bots from securing consoles.
It looks like retailers are now doing their best to make the shopping process as fair as possible and prevent their sites from crashing. However, that now means you'll probably have to wait in a virtual line.
We regularly check retailers for the best PS5 stock links, so you have the option of buying a console if you haven't already. And, if you have the console, we also have links to

When will the PS5 be back in stock in the UK?
Ever since PS5 pre-orders launched in September last year, gamers have been scrambling to get their hands on the Sony console. Disc and digital editions of the PS5 console have been plagued with stock issues, although more than six months later, the console is sold out at UK retailers.
When there is stock, retailers sell out within minutes of going live. There are even Twitter accounts such as
PS5 UK Stock Alert
that notify players when new stock might be released to give them a chance in the world of downed websites and virtual queues.
We don't yet know how long this misery will last, but Sony is telling customers to expect stock shows to run through at least the summer months.
Can I get a PS5 in store?
With the UK lockdown easing, you might be hoping for a better chance of nabbing a PS5 in a physical store. Sadly, that doesn't seem to be the case.
While retailers such as GAME, John Lewis and ASDA have reopened their stores, the console has yet to hit shelves.
This could now change as a poster was recently seen at a Smyths Toys store promoting the fact that the PS5 console can now be pre-ordered from the physical store.
Some retailers, such as Argos, also make the console available through Click and Collect so you can order online and pick it up at your local store. However, there appear to be regional variations, so Click and Collect may not be an option for all retailers or stores. We suggest checking with your local store for details on how it will work in your area.
Where to buy a PS5 in the UK?
We'll keep you posted as more stores stock and when it becomes available. Most retailers say they're "working hard to get more stock". We aim to verify this regularly, but it's always worth checking below to see if stock has returned:
Amazon
Amazon has been steadily releasing PS5 stock twice a month since early 2021. For most of these drops, both disc and digital editions of the console are available.
There have been no bundles available so far, and PS5 consoles sell out within minutes each time they go live. So we won't give up just yet. In the past, wishlisting the console ahead of time was a good way to bag one.

Currys PC World
Currys has been a bit quiet on the stock decline front over the past two months. The retailer also offered a
PS5 VIP raffle
for a while that gave you the chance to win a one-time PS5 purchase code that you can use at a local Currys store. This now appears to be over, but it could still come back at a later date.
However, the end of the VIP raffle means that Currys should release more PS5 stock via its website in June. This hasn't happened in the last two months, so we're excited to see what levels of stock will be on offer. .

Very
Over the past few months, Very has proven to be a reliable source of PS5 consoles, games, and accessories. In March, stock drops were happening every two weeks. There were instances of out of stock in less than 10 minutes, so this is another retailer you'll want to deal with quickly.

Smyths Toys
Another great source for PS5 consoles and accessories. As well as having a good stock level of

john lewis
A good option for the early risers among us as John Lewis loves to release PS5 stock as early as 6am. The retailer may not be your first port of call for gaming accessories and consoles, but John Lewis did not have the same technical errors seen with ShopTo, Smyths and Currys.

AO
Another retailer to watch is AO. Stock drops tend to be low and sell out quickly, but that's not necessarily something new. New stock tends to be released once a month, and lunchtime or mid-afternoon dips are not uncommon.

PS5 Accessories
Despite all the issues with the PS5 console, there has generally been good availability when it comes to PS5 accessories. Naturally, the

and

are the most popular, but there are also various other accessories on offer, including the

How to get a PS5: top tips
1. Bookmark our page and check stock
We keep this page up to date and have major retailers with confirmed restocking times. This should save you time as you don't have to scour the web yourself.
2. Be sure to check in just before any restock times
Most retailers only have PS5 stock for 30 minutes max. We'll list confirmed times when we have them, just click on them and get ready because when that stock pops up it'll disappear as fast as you can say "I want to. a PS5”.
3. Prepare your payment information and money in your account
When the console was first launched, some people reported difficulty getting their console to confirm or a message that it was verifying payment. A console is not confirmed until you pay, so make sure you remove all barriers by having the money in the account you are using and the details at hand.
4. Move fast
It might seem obvious, but there's no thinking. If you know you want the PS5, decide which version, then check out these links! As soon as stock appears, it's gone.
5. Don't worry
If you don't get a console right away, keep checking. Yes, it's hard to get one right now, but there's always the next restock! Retailers are running out of stock almost every week now, so there are plenty of chances to get your hands on a console – don't give up.

How do I know which retailers will have PS5 stock?
Keeping track of which retailers have PS5 consoles and accessories in stock is a challenge. Recent stock drops have sold out in minutes, barely giving the website a chance to take it down.
To make sure you're ahead of the curve and ready and waiting for the fall, we have a dedicated team of experts scrolling the web for information.
It's far from an exact science, but we gather information from retailers, as well as sources such as
Stock market informant
, social media and Sony's own team to ensure our updates are accurate and reliable. After all, no one wants to be sitting around constantly refreshing a page for a stock drop that never comes.
These updates are done daily to find the latest dates and times when retailers need to drop their inventory. After six months of inventory issues, many retailers have adopted patterns of low inventory, which can help us predict when more PS5 stock becomes available.
We also keep all of our links up to date, so you can click straight to the product page, because those extra seconds are precious when looking for PS5 stock.
How much does the PS5 cost?
