So your camera phone app is not working. Here are some steps to fix the problem.
Why can't I see my cameras from my phone app anymore?
Did you get a new router or internet service? If so, you will need to configure your
router
to send to your
DVRs
your camera phone app will work again.
If you didn't change anything and it stopped working, it may be because your IP address has changed. Every internet connection in the world has its own IP address. So you
Unless you pay the internet service provider, they can change the IP address at any time. For this reason, if your camera app stops working, you should first check if your IP address has changed.
Check your IP address
Open the Camera app on your smartphone (This app may change)
click on the icon at the top left (squares
then click on devices
then click on the arrow to the right and it will take you to the details where you can see your IP address
Google what is your IP
Google "
What is my IP address
" and check that the IP address on Google matches the IP address of your application. If it is not the same, click on the "change:" button at the top right and replace it with your IP address public. Then SAVE.(go to google and type that)
Check the IP address of the recorder
The router tells the camera phone app where to go to get the info (tells the app to get the info from the NVR)
Router
is the "gatekeeper" for telling where the information should go.
Login to your
router
Port forwarding: your router sends information from a certain port to perform a specific function
Anything that connects to your router, the router gives it a specific local IP address that is unique to your local network
You need to configure our router to forward ports (80,8000 and 8554) to the NVR (like a phone forwarding/extension system, and using TCP not UDP)
Make sure the recorder's local IP address is the same IP address the router told it to go to.
If you don't know your recorder's IP address... no problem! Most people don't.
The
is
some way to make it static instead of dynamic, meaning it will stay the same and not change again. If this hasn't been done, look to do so
See how many devices are connected to your internet
If you know how to connect to your router, your router will list everything connected
How to connect to the router:
Most people do this by typing 192.168.1.1 (Or it could be 192.168.0.1)
Connection information: If you don't know what it is, it may be:
Username: Administrator
Password: password
If you still don't know how to connect, Google your router and find a user guide
Assuming you can connect to the router and port forwarding is already configured, look at two things;
First: The list of devices connected to the router (or internet)
Second: a section titled “Advanced Setup” where you will find port forwarding information
Once you are here you can then change the local IP address to forward if it is incorrect
Chances are it is currently forwarding to local IP address 192.168.1.2.Or 192.168.1.3 or 192.168.1.4…etc
Using trial and error, if you change the last number, save, try the app again, and repeat, you should be able to figure out what the correct local IP address is.
