Jabra Evolve 65 Ms Mono
The Jabra 65 at first glance seems like a good product and once received again it is well made comfortable and you would think exactly what you need! The device comes prepared with the little USB Bluetooth dongle for your laptop/ PC which is nice and even when first pairing the device to your mobile you get a nice feeling as the switch is good and the audible feedback in the ear is really nice! However then things start to go wrong with this headset I have TWO now as I was hoping the first would be a dodgy unit but no they both act identically (either Skype or UC version which I don't can't even tell the difference as both come with the dongle and both act the same). The first call you make you'll be impressed wondering how you ever got along without it, then as the day progresses the experience degrades, it's really weird how the quality seems to go down, but others have mentioned the same thing and it's true. Here are the behaviors I have with BOTH headsets: 1) When on computer a call from mobile can disappear, mute PC and re-enter, you won't hear it. 'not get 'above', which would not. be so bad, but the fading time makes it look like the other person isn't there on the PC call. “Can't talk to two people at once?” I hear you say.. No, but consider system sounds, message alert tones, log reminder tones, even keyboard clicks have messed up my PC. This headset doesn't seem to indicate you're actively using any device and doesn't interrupt the other. A system of swapping between the devices is necessary but that does not exist with this headset, the way it does it is "automatic" and does it really badly. 2) After the first pairing on the phone ( iPhone 7 fully used with this review) it will work fine but as the day progresses you may be able to get in and out of range (I really don't know) you will find that the headphones just won't work with the mobile, you select Bluetooth audio on the phone when you answer a call, the phone will believe it's playing on the Bluetooth headset because it mutes the speaker but nothing on the headset. one call and it's maddening to you and the caller!!!3) Again Bluetooth to mobile... Sometimes (like this very morning prompting me to write this review!) I turned the headset back on, I placed it on my head and got "Mobil (what is a mobil!!!!!) connected". seconds later..."Mobile connected"...a few seconds later.... "Mobile disconnected", you get the idea that it was going on and on... On the iPhone Bluetooth screen, it was of course Jabra Evolve 65 would go back and forth and disconnect.ARGH!!!!How did I fix it?The usual thing you find yourself doing when mobile stops working with this headset is to FORGET the phone, put the headset in pairing mode and pair it again! Now it's connected again, which just shows a problem, I didn't move a location, I haven't turned the phone off and on again just deleting pairing and repairing. I find myself doing this every day I use this headset. 4) Sound quality. Fair enough with Jabra Bluetooth dongle for PC but mobile ... Sorry, "Mobil"... Usually metallic noises are always heard on high notes (there is a firmware update on February 18/ mars for this but that doesn't change this problem I did!). This is just the start, when the mobile has problems connecting as it does and you turn it off for it to take audio through the headset, the resulting call may be WEAKING with sound coming in and out of cutoff notes, etc. DREADFUL. .. Again another unpaired pair. The multiple call handling issue I *think* has something to do with it, thinking the other channel is holding something open, because sometimes the PC dongle waits for a few seconds and returning seems to help but not totally of course... As I said, I upgraded the firmware, I did a factory reset after the firmware upgrade and started again, but NOTHING WILL HELP THIS HEADSET WORKING CORRECTLY I have many years of computer experience to figure these things out and I've had enough with it. Frankly, this second headset comes back under the back window and I'm tempted to use the first one just for my laptop audio because it's SO BAD with mobile Bluetooth! Hope this helps someone and if it helps click the helpful button, cheers :)
