Samsung DualView ST600 and ST100 debut
Samsung continues to expand its line of popular DualView cameras with the addition of the Samsung DualView ST600 and ST100 today. Hailing as the new flagship DualView models, they feature larger 1.8-inch front LCD screens.

The ST600 and ST100 retain the ultra-sleek and slim appearance of previous DualView cameras such as the
TL225
.Both models feature 5x optical zoom, although the ST100 is integrated internally to keep the front panel smooth.
Samsung Dual View ST100
Samsung's new DualView cameras will both feature 14.2-megapixel sensors and Smart Auto mode for minimal user intervention. Previous models as well as the ST600 and ST100 feature self-portrait mode, a couple mode, a child mode which will display a colorful animation on the front LCD screen and a self-timer countdown.
Introduced with the ST600 and ST100 is a "jump shot" mode. The camera's front LCD screen will tell those posing for the shot to jump in unison, then it takes three shots to help capture some. one that freezes riders in the air.
Samsung Dual View ST600
The ST600's 5x optical zoom offers a wide angle of 27mm. Like the ST100, it will provide users with dual optical and digital image stabilization. The front-facing 1.8-inch LCD screen will respond at a press, and the large 3.5-inch LCD on the back is also a touchscreen. It will support Samsung's Smart Gesture UI, allowing the user to tilt the camera to perform certain functions in addition to interacting with the touch screen.
It will record 720p HD video at 30 fps and supports a touch-sensitive autofocus lock function. It also features Samsung's facial recognition technology and will "remember" the faces of up to 6 photographic subjects that have been registered manually. Up to 14 faces will be recognized automatically.
Samsung Dual View ST100
By placing the 5x optical zoom lens in the corner of the ST100, Samsung has reduced the camera body to about 0.8 inches thick with no protruding lens. has only a 35mm wide-angle compared to the ST600's 27mm wide-angle lens.
The ST100 will also feature a 3.5-inch LCD touch screen and dual image stabilization. It will record 720p HD video at 30 fps and will also offer face detection and recognition.
Price and availability
The Samsung DualView ST100 will cost $349.99 and the DualView ST600 will cost $329.99. Both cameras will be available in September in color options including pink and purple.
