The Pritchards' acting skills did little to impress viewers of Hollyoaks, who called their appearances "wooden" and "agonizing", while other soap opera actors, including Parry Glasspool of Hollyoaks and EastEnders' Michael Greco criticized the decision to cast the reality TV stars when other qualified actors are looking for work.

, Curtis, 25, pleaded ignorance about posting clips of the brothers' Hollyoaks scenes on social media, which were described by viewers as "painful to watch."

The former Love Island contestant insisted: "Until then, I felt absolutely nothing about it because I didn't realize anyone had said anything.

'We always understand that, we always get different things, and for me it's always about positivity.'

Echoing those sentiments, AJ, 26, went on to say, 'I've learned to focus on the positive and not the negative.

'If someone has constructive criticism, 100% that's great, but if it's just negativity then it's not something I'm going to waste my time and energy on.'

In the soap opera, the brothers were plotting the downfall of their dance teacher Trish, played by Denise Welch.

Two scenes in particular caught fans' attention, as viewers claimed they weren't sure if the brothers were plotting to kill Trish or throwing a surprise party in her honor. p>

Among those who criticized the brothers was Gerard McCarthy, who played Kris Fisher in Hollyoaks.

He tweeted, "Next time a producer/casting director utters the words 'but they've got a big one on social media'...just point them in the direction of that absolute car crash!"

Michael Greco, who is best known for playing Beppe DiMarco on EastEnders, replied: "I think people can watch this and learn so much. How 'not' to act. Shocking.'
