As we mentioned above, Samsung has made the cutout notification ring available through an update to the Edge Lighting+ app which is part of the Good Lock family of apps; however, Edge Lighting+ can also run as a standalone application.
So, without further ado, let's see how to activate the cutout notification ring with the Edge Lighting+ app.
First you need to download and install the latest version
Edge lighting+
application.
Once the application has been downloaded and installed on your smartphone, launch
Edge lighting+
from your application menu.
Now press
Effect
which would be an option present in the bottom bar.
You might see a bunch of edge lighting effects that you can scroll horizontally.
Scroll to the very end of these effects and then you can see an effect called
Eclipse
.Press it.
By doing so, you will be able to see a preview of the effect on your device.
Press on
Finished
to use this edge lighting effect.
How to customize edge lighting effect
Well, now that you have enabled the camera mute notification light, you can still make some changes to customize the edge lighting effect according to your preference.
change color
You can change the color of the edge lighting effect just by tapping the
Color
option present in the lower bar of the
Peripheral lighting+
application.
You can choose from several
predefined colors
or you can press the
multicolored circle
choose from virtually any color on the color wheel.
There is also an option to use custom colors for each application.
Press on
Custom color
then press
Manage Notifications
.
Select the applications for which you want to display a custom color via the Edge Lighting effect.
Once selected, return to
Custom color
page.
Here you will be able to see the colors associated with each application.
To choose your own color, just tap on the app and choose your favorite color.
Change Transparency
Press on
Transparency
on the bottom bar and use the
slide
to adjust the transparency of the edge lighting effect.
Change duration
To change the duration of the edge lighting effect, tap
Duration
in the bottom bar and you can choose from
Short, medium and long
duration options. Touch
Finished
once satisfied.
Voila, now you can enjoy the cool effect whenever you receive a notification on your Galaxy S10 device.
If for some reason you don't like the Edge Lighting+ effect, there is a third-party app that offers the same type of effect; however, there is still a long way to go to match how the app works. Edge Lighting+.

Download and install Holey from the
Google Play Store
.
Launch the application and go through all the warnings and continue with the installation wizard.
You would have the option to choose from three different animation styles:
Swirl — Blink — Unholy Light
.You will also see the percentage of battery usage for each animation.
Tap one of the animation styles and that's it.
You will now be able to see the animation around the camera cutout of your Galaxy S10.
To disable the effect, simply turn off the Holey Light feature using the toggle present in the top right corner of the app.
