Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless Gaming Headset - High Fidelity 7.1 Surround Sound with Broadcast Quality Microphone - Memory Foam Earpads - 20 Hour Battery Life - Works with PC, PS5, PS4 - Carbon
I don't usually write reviews, but I have time to spare and hope my contribution helps someone decide if the Corsair Virtuoso is a good choice for their application. BTW, I have the Premium version and NOT the Special Edition/SE version. (more on why I chose this below and it wasn't the $30 price difference) SOLID build quality. There is some satisfaction with how they feel. Sturdy, no creaking or flexing that shouldn't exist. Good weight, not too heavy. I'm sure the SE version is also very nice with the machined aluminum. The protein leather headband and ear pads are comfortable and I'm sure would be comfortable for many people for several hours. in fabric mesh, etc. Changing the sound profile is half the fun of having a good set of bobbins. es) Crazy noise isolation. Put them on your head and you probably won't be able to hear much around you. Depending on your preferences, it could be great, they come in all shapes and form VERY closed headphones. I think most people are right handed, so having the volume on the right side is kind of annoying. The right hand is the main mouse hand and shouldn't be needed to adjust the volume. Wireless sound is adequate, very clean for the most part. As you will see I have also attached a picture of my EQ settings as I personally like a V-curve with high bass/treble and mids a bit set back. With a "Pure Direct" flat EQ they sound pretty bland IMHO not only for gaming but also for music and general use. Not sure how this would work for console users who might not be able to set up sound profiles easily... Microphone quality is great! I don't know if it's a known fact, but the Premium's mic is much better than the Special Edition's .It's a good selling point if you like to reproduce your voice accurately. The software is ok. iCUE has a very limited subset of options for this set of boxes and only a few EQ presets that I personally would never use. That's not to say that Logitech software or other people are better, but it's really not great. Sometimes the biggest issue is clarity. Even when using the default "Pure Direct" EQ settings or my tweaked EQ settings, sometimes there is a crackle/pop/distortion in some games/music that occurs and that is very unpleasant. Yes, I may have received a faulty pair of cans, but I can't hear the distorted sound. The second biggest issue from my perspective. The pads are a bit shallow for me personally and my ears are touching the inside near the driver. According to my attached picture, I wish the pad rolling was easier. These pads have a ring/turn mounting system (clockwise to unlock which is counter bass) and they would require you to destroy the original pads to get the rings out to mount properly a new set (or you could get an adhesive set of pads that meh, or even 3d print new rings but that's too much effort for a simple pad swap) So wow yeah I like being able to swap pads pads for comfort/sound adjustment and these don't easily allow for that. Sooooooooo this may have been a long review that doesn't give much information but in short I will be returning them and continuing to use my Logs itech G935 (with swapped lambskin headband and slanted lambskin ear pads) Even stock I would say they are much better in terms of value/performance/customization/etc.
