Settings for Google Camera 6.2 for Samsung devices

Update:

We have listed the latest Google Camera 6.2 for Samsung Galaxy devices here, including the latest Galaxy S10e/S10/S10 Plus, Note 10/Note 10 Plus, Galaxy S9, S8, Note 8. The Google Camera mod listed below Below also works on mid range phones like Samsung Galaxy A50, A30, A40, Galaxy M30 etc. We have also included the older, more stable Gcam 5.1 APK for mid-range phones or phones running Android 8.0 Oreo or Exynos variants.

Original:

Google has released a new version of its camera app with the Android 8.1 Oreo firmware update for the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL flagships. Google has also rolled out a new Camera API 2 for the same which has brought several improvements to the Pixel camera and the photos taken. It is truly a revolutionary and top rated camera app in the Android community. Although native to Pixel and Nexus devices, developers have started porting this app to their own devices. So download and install the latest Google Camera Gcam APK for Samsung Galaxy devices here.

Fortunately, many new phones support the Camera 2 API by default. The port was therefore transparent. All you have to do is download the appropriate Google Camera app and install it as a normal APK. The latest version of Google Camera for Samsung Galaxy devices is originally ported mainly for Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge devices. However, with some tweaks, it is now possible to make it work also on Galaxy S8, S8+, Note 8 and many other devices running Samsung Experience ROM on Snapdragon and Exynos variants.

< p>There are several versions of Gcam APK available. However, we have also found the best possible Google Camera port for Samsung phones. It supports all features like Portrait mode for front/rear camera, HDR+ front/rear camera, photo-sphere, panorama and much more. You also get tons of customization options in settings like NonZSL HDR+ auto exposure mode, NonZSL HDR+ underexposure multiplier, HDR+ configuration options, device selection, image blur objective and many more. More importantly, the film found exclusively in Google Pixel phones is also present here.

Settings for Google Camera 6.2 for Samsung devices

As this Google Camera app has been set up for Samsung Galaxy S7, you just need to install the app and use it directly without any settings. However, first do the following.

Uninstall any previous version of installed Google Camera app.

Clean install or clear data when you launch the app for the first time.

< p>If the settings do not apply correctly, force quit and relaunch the application.

If the app crashes while processing an HDR+ or portrait, it may be due to a memory leak. You may need to restart the phone.

For the Samsung Galaxy, the ideal settings look like this:

Model: Nexus 6

Portrait mode on all models: enabled

camera.af.debug.show: disabled (sub)

camera.faceboxes: enabled

Some options on Samsung devices may not work. Note 8: Touch rear camera for focus does not work. For Galaxy S8, S8+ Oreo, Pixel 2017 configuration may not work, so use Nexus 6 auto instead. Go to advanced settings, choose "Configure HDR+ camera", then choose Nexus6Hdr+Auto.

For the latest version8 of Google Camera, clear data, launch app, enter settings, force quit app, relaunch app. You will have all the settings listed above.

Some major settings to note:

NonZSL HDR+ auto exposure mode:

For low light and static objects, use “Slow Shutter”. For well-lit environments, choose any.

Non-ZSL HDR+ Underexposure Multiplier:

This method can sometimes cause the well-known rainbow effect. You can lessen this effect by reducing the underexposure. The dynamic range will decrease.

Advanced: HDR+ front camera fix:

For Galaxy S7 Exynos. If HDR+ works without this setting on the front camera, disable it.
