10 Samsung Galaxy S10 Must Have Apps You Should Know About
NOTICE: We have created an archive of all the major developments related to the Samsung Galaxy S10 series. We are constantly updating this page with the latest S10e/S10/S10+ news so you don't have to search for information related to the device every day. Go here to access this page.
Android's ever-growing popularity is heavily influenced by the large number of third-party apps. With over 2.1 million apps available through Google Play alone, the Google-designed operating system even beats iOS by 'Apple in terms of application availability.

On the other hand, readers might remember the death of the Windows Mobile platform, mainly due to the lack of apps.
Samsung, one of the biggest smartphone makers in the world, dropped Windows Mobile support a long time ago. After tinkering with Tizen for a short time, they dedicated their resources only to Android for phone design and tablets.
The 10th anniversary edition of the Samsung S series, also known as Galaxy S10, unveiled a number of advanced technologies such as in-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, "Infinity-O" display with punch-hole front cameras and 5G support (via a particular variant).
Galaxy S10 5G
Samsung's version of Android skin in Galaxy S10, known as One UI, comes pre-installed with a number of inbox apps, some users consider them bloatware and we wrote an article to show how remove those unwanted apps even without root.
Yet people are always on the lookout for innovative (sometimes awesome) apps to improve the UX of their phones. In one of our previous stories, we highlighted a number of such apps.
NiceLock, an alternative Samsung Good Lock module launcher
In this article, we are going to show you another set of 10 must-have apps for your Samsung Galaxy S10e/S10/S10 Plus. Without further ado, here we go:
01 hidden hole
Love the phone but can't handle the punch holes on the gorgeous AMOLED display? Legendary Android developer Jorrit Jongma, aka Chainfire, has you covered with his Hidey Hole app.
The app automatically collects community-created wallpapers that may "obscure the camera cutout (hide the hole)". It also gives users the ability to realign/scale images.
Shamelessly ad, but k2rx.com also maintains a curated list of these "punch" wallpapers. Check out this article to pick one from the collection.
02 holey light
Chainfire has unlocked its true potential by releasing Holey Light to mimic the Galaxy S10 line's missing notification LED by illuminating the edge of the front camera hole.
The developer has made the app open source and it is constantly bringing new features and fixing existing bugs. You can find the support thread here.
03 Arc lighting
Epicity of XDA has created Arc Lighting, another app to bring the LED notification features through camera cutout animations. Moreover, the app supports a plethora of customizations.
04 Battery Ring
As you can predict from its name, this nifty little app can make a ring around the cutout to show off the remaining battery juice.
The developer really made the app portable, so it should work on phones other than the Galaxy S10 line.
You can download the app from Google Play (Free, Pro) or XDA Forums.
05 Edge light
Originally developed for OnePlus 6, Borderlight displays a slowly moving colored border around the edges of your screen. You can think of it as a more artistic enhancement and a replacement for the built-in Edge Lighting feature.
You can contact the developer through the official support thread.
06 Wings Font [Samsung]
Tired of the limited collection of fonts offered by Samsung? Can't find your favorite cartoon font in Galaxy Store? Wings Font lets you choose from hundreds of new fonts in the built-in font catalog. Besides, they can also provide local TrueType font (TTF) files.
Galaxy S10 phones are supported by the release candidate version of the app. For more details and download links, click here.
07 bxShares
Using bxActions, it's possible to completely remap the Bixby button to any action or app you want. You can even disable the button altogether.
The full list of features is as follows:
08 Sound assistant
Here is the first app in the list designed by Samsung - SoundAssistant. For detailed audio control, this is a must-have app.
This app can be downloaded from Google Play or the Galaxy App Store.
09 Adhell3 & Disconnect Pro
Block system-wide ads - check; no root access required - check; no background service - check; no battery drain - check!
If you don't mind setting up a small number of manual configurations, go with Adhell3.
On the other hand, if you don't mind paying $25 one time, look for Disconnect Pro in Galaxy apps.
10 Google Camera (port)
You must already know how Google Camera ports can dramatically improve camera performance, especially in low light.
Interested readers can find compatible Gcam ports for their Snapdragon Galaxy S10 (US, Canada, Hong Kong) and Exynos Galaxy S10 (Rest of World) models here.
FYI, Exynos port is a bit inferior to Snapdragon port as few features do not work on the previous one.
Honorable Mention: Magisk
I know, I know - Magisk isn't your typical app. But once you're rooted with Magisk, you can literally do whatever you want!
You can use iOS emojis, change your boot animation, install exclusive Google Pixel apps - the list goes on!
